The Contributions of Dr. Yeong-charng Yen to Taiwan Orthodontists

Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS)

Dr. & Mrs. Yen worked very hard and travelled to nearly every affiliated Association/Societies of the APOS as the Chairman of the International Developmental Committee of the TAO and tried to make TAO applied into the APOS successfully.

Dr. Yen attended the APOS ECMs meeting dated March 5, 2009 in the 5^th Biennial Regional Orthodontic Congress of the Association of Philippine Orthodontists at Boracay, Philippines. Dr. Yen as the representative of the TAO to make the formal official presentation in the APOC ECMs Meeting for the application of the TAO to the APOS.

Dr. Yen flew to Bangkok, Thailand and sent the TAO official application form to APOS President, Dr. Satravaha in person at Shangrila Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand dated December 4, 2009.

TAO finally became the 18^th affiliated Association of the APOS dated 20^th July, 2011.

TAO first time officially attended the 8^th APOC Meeting dated November 29, 30, December 1, 2, in Ashok Hotel at New Delhi, India and please see the following pictures and contents:

Indian Orthodontic Society delegates welcomed TAO
members’ arrival at New Delhi International airport.

WFO President, Dr. Justus, Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS) Past President, Dr. Girish Karandikar and Dr. Yen were taken picture together with Indian Drs. in the 8^th APOC meeting.

Dr. & Mrs. Yen took picture together with Indian Orthodontic Society President, Dr. Pradeep Shetty. President, Dr. Shetty appreciated TAO’s largest group delegates and wished the continuous friendship between the TAO and IOS.

Dr. & Mrs Yen together with IOS President, Dr. Shetty and IOS past President, Dr. Ahuja and other Indian Orthodontists celebrated the success of the 8^th APOC & 46^th IOC Meeting.

Dr. Yeong-charng Yen served as the Co-Chairperson in the session of presentation of the Chairman, Professor, Dr. Profitt, from the Orthodontic Department of the Orthodontics, North Carolina University, USA during the 9^th APOC Meeting.

Dr. Yeong-charng Yen took picture with Professor, Dr. Profitt after finishing of the presentation in the 9^th APOC Meeting, Guching, Malaysia.

Dr. & Mrs. Yen took picture with WFO President, Dr. & Mrs. Justus, MAO President, Dr. Kereshanan, Congress Chairperson Dr. Noraini and all the friends from the world in the Gala Dinner (State Dinner) in the 9^th APOC Meeting at Guching, Malaysia.

Dr. & Mrs. Yen took picture with MAO President, Dr. Shalene Kereshanan and Congress Chairperson, Dr. Alwi Noraini and her husband Mr. Alwi dated October 20, 2014 in the Borneo Convention Center, Guching, Sarawak, Borneo, Malaysia in memory of the friendship between the MAO and TAO.
