TMJ, Neuro-Muscular Problems and Orthodontic Treatment

Some of the patients suffered from temporomandibular joint pain and dysfunction, this could be the results of the mutilated dentition, neuro-muscular problems, temporomandibular joint diseases or psychological stress.

Our orthodontist will use different instruments, for example: panadent articulator & Axi-Path III, Myotronics EMG K7, Cone Beam CT to evaluate the joint/muscle problems firstly.

We will consider to use the occlusal splint and other physical instruments, such as TENS to stabilize the temporomandibular joint position firstly and then to start the orthodontic treatment later.
